This can be clearly evident in a couple of cases which have come to light in the recent past. The rape allegations against Gurmeet Ram Rahim date back to 2002, when a Dera sadhvi wrote an anonymous letter to then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee saying she was raped by the Dera chief. Infact according to the girl the women who were staying in the Dera and we're called 'sadhvis' knew everything about this. Then what made them stay quiet? The feeling of being superior, the feeling of being the so called "guiding spirits" is what makes these people trap the people by hitting on their weakness and that is nothing but the belief system.
